Not MY Ultimate Recipes!

As I was watching the Food Network this weekend, I stumbled on the Ultimate Recipe Competition, specifically the Burger section. Now I love burgers, meat, veggie, seafood and poultry, and I was dismayed to find most of the competitors were using the dreaded cilantro in their burgers or sauces. Now I know it is a popular herb, but can't we find another to spice up, or give our burgers that special kick? How about an Ultimate Non-Cilantro recipe? Just a thought.

Cilantro in Soup

The dreaded cilantro rears its ugly head in my soup tonight. I should have realized that "Mexican" chicken soup would have cilantro even if the Cheesecake Factory said it didn't. Sigh.

Whole Foods Burritos and Wraps

Whole Foods own brand breakfast burritos are gloriously cilantro free.
The corn and roasted pepper quesadilla does not list cilantro, but has "spices" and lots of cilantro in it.

Other places that cilantro lurks

Don't forget cilantro is also CORIANDER. That's how you will find in in most Indian dishes.

Why I hate cilantro

Dear Chefs, please hold the cilantro. I've found it in every kind of salsa, including mango chutney. and lurking in my rice pilaf. The least you can do is let a person know in that its in the dish on your menu.
